This contemporary home was designed for a family of six relocating to the Pacific Northwest from London, England. The design was conceived as a blending of elements of the family's London home with their vision of American houses and the Northwest climate. Simple massing, a sheltering pitched roof, expressive windows with an influx of natural light and exposed timber detailing were the basic concepts from which the design evolved. Additionally, the clients were interested in a quiet elegance, without superfluous details or add-on elements.
